SHADES OF MISSISSIPPI

In the summer of 1963, there were hundreds of protests in cities across America in the lead up to the March on Washington. In Chicago, the campaign to desegregate the public school system was the focus of the local civil rights movement.

Shades of Mississippi is an interactive mass meeting production based on a July 20, 1963 mass meeting held in Chicago. Characters include: Dick Gregory, Rev. Arthur Brazier (TWO), Edwin Berry (Urban League), Congressman William Dawson, Mrs. Wendell Green (Board of Education), Al Raby (CCCO) and many others.
